We are excited to officially launch the Connect Platform!
Connect is a membership and discipleship platform designed to take your congregants from corporate encounters with God to daily personal encounters with God. Connect empowers your church to integrate members into your culture, community, and covering through your church’s own personal videos and branding. The heart of Connect is to disciple each person into daily personal encounters by teaching them how they best connect with God.
Platform Overview:
This platform involves three simple steps. It includes online videos, online assessments, and a one-on-one appointment with connectors. These connectors will pray with members, provide a personalized daily encounter plan, and share how to get connected into community at your church. The Connect platform integrates with Planning Center to streamline your membership and serve team processes.
The heart of Connect is to disciple people into daily personal encounters. For so long, many of us have tried to connect with God the same way as our pastor or worship leaders, but God wants to connect with us in a personal way. There is only one way to God, and it’s through Jesus — but in Jesus, there are many ways to connect with God. Through Connect, your church will have access to the Connect with God curriculum that is impacting thousands of daily personal encounters. This is a game changer for your church because people will spiritually grow as they aren't just encountering God on Sundays, but everyday.
Preparing to use the platform:
1. Develop Culture
What is your vision?
When your church is cut open, what do you bleed?
What are your values?
How do you act when you’re at your best?
What are your unique characteristics?
Why did you plant your church?
What are your leadership standards?
How do you determine who you empower?
2. Create Videos
Your Story
The Value of Membership
Vision & Culture
Values
Leadership Standards
Unique Characteristics
Ministry Philosophies
Beliefs
Government
How you do ministry
Membership Commitments
Serving Opportunities
3. Create Connect Document
This document is uploaded within the platform for each of your campuses. If you have multiple campuses at your church, each campus can have a unique Connect Document. This document should include anything you wish to share with the members of your church. This is what Mercy Culture covers in our Connect document:
Our Vision
The importance of daily encounters and Connect with God
Our Culture
Areas to Serve
Ministries (Our Housed Visions)
How to be a part of a group
How to stay connected (social media, Facebook group)
Our membership commitments (serve, tithe, and attend)
Acknowledgement of our Core Beliefs
Covering (What they have access to as a member of Mercy Culture - how to find pastoral care, benevolence, food)
4. Build a Connect Team
Your Connect Team will be made up of people who love to connect with others! They should have a heart for discipleship, teaching people how to connect with God on a daily basis, and getting them connected into community at your church. Connectors will meet with each prospective new member in a one-on-one appointment. At Mercy Culture, we create an opportunity in our MC Connect appointments to submit a prophetic word and intentionally pray over each person, whether they become a member or not.
5. Receive 100% buy in from your senior leader, and communicate the importance and heart of Connect every Sunday.
Every Sunday, there should be announcements about Connect for your church and how people can become members. It is important to communicate why it’s valuable — Connect is not just about membership, it’s discipleship. Through Connect, members find out how they best connect with God. Sunday announcements is a great opportunity for pastors to communicate the following:
the importance of daily personal encounters with God
that there are many ways to connect with God
what Connect appointments look like at your church
how they get connected into community
